Context & Problem:

Over the 5% of population in India suffer  from one disability or the other. Most of the disabilities are preventable. Alone birth defects account for 70 out of each 100 live births; primarily with either healthy pregnancy ad safe delivery or early identification of disability ( either at borth or 0-3 yrs) and ealry intervntion pevntion of disabilities can be prevnted optimally.  

Children with disablities based on the type of of the disability require assessment and rehab therapy services such as physiotherapy, speech therapy, psychotherapy or behaviof therapy, special education etc. The question is how longer?. It depends on the severity and mltiplicity of disability and many other factors like the level of parents education, level of parents and childs' motivation, socio-economic condition etc. Usually the rehabilitation programs are 2 yrs to 10 more years for better results. The ultimate goal is to enable the child to live independantly to extent possible with basic slef help skills, communication, socialisation skills and basic edcuation needed for day to day life. 

Poor and the middle class cnt afford these services as achild with cerebral pasly for example requires physiotherapy, occupational, speech therapy and special education regularly; for all this they need to pay apprx. Rs. 2000/- regualry in any private set up. 

Thersefore Manasa offers all these services under one roof for all the chilldren with disabilities at free of cost. 

Estimate: 

Towards providing rehab therapy services for poor speial children regurarly for one year.

It consumes Rs 500/day X 25 days x12 months =Rs. 1,50,000/- per one child/year. 

to provide these services for 10 children= Rs.15,00,000/year. 

50% of this would be borne by Manasa and the remaining 50% i. e., Rs. 7,50,000/- is expected  through kind donations via ifinish Hyderbad Marathon 2020.
